There are no preparations needed for an MRI exam.
There are no special preparations when having an MRI with contrast. However,if you are age 60 or older have had any of the following conditions you must provide our office with current blood work results indicating your creatinine levels and:
Most exams will take 15-30 minutes. Exams that require contrast will take 10-45 minutes. The times listed above are an approximation of how long the exams will last. However, some scans may take longer depending on the patient's cooperation and preparation time he/she takes.
The results of your exam will be interpreted by one of our Board Certified Radiologists within 24-48 hours. Your results will be faxed and delivered to your physician immediately after they have been received by our office.

Although we are a TRUE Open MRI there is sedation available for patients who may still feel claustrophobia. Please let us know when scheduling your appointment if you will be needing sedation before your MRI. If sedation must be administered by our facilily, patient must be accompanied by another person at all times who will be driving them to and from our facility.
